Joint Statement / Appeal

The 3rd wave of Covid-19 pandemic situation is really alarming and death rate in our country is increasing day by day. In addition the very high percentage of deaths among Muslims is a major cause for concern as a community.

We, make this appeal to our brothers and sisters to continue to be more vigilant and act wisely, taking note of the rate and statistics of the Covid-19 related Janazas, as the situation is getting really bad on a daily basis.

Considering the critical period of the pandemic, our Ulama, Professionals, Entrepreneurs, Masjid Trustees, Civil Society Leaders and Religious Bodies are kindly requested promote the following guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of the community and the country.

 

1. To take the utmost precautions as per the heath guidelines to avoid contracting the Covid-19 virus.

 

2. If Covid-19 virus is contracted, should immediately inform the area PHI and strictly follow the guidelines as proposed by the MOH.

 

3. To motivate and encourage more members of the community to get vaccinated.

 

4. Masjid leadership should rise to the occasion and take the initiative to implement effective and protective measures to contain and prevent the spread of Covid-19 both locally and at district level whilst continuing to be vigilant about it spreading in their locality.

 

5. Let’s turn towards the Almighty and make Dua as much as possible to change the situation and make us and the country move forward towards normalcy.

 

May the Almighty ease all our suffering and bless the country and the whole world to be free from Covid-19 soon. Ameen.
